Typical heavy traffic at the bottom of Ferriby Road, Barton upon Humber
At the Town Council meeting in October Neil said," If and when the so called relief road is built it will not solve the problem of increasing traffic in the town. We need to find ways to manage this better for the benefit of residents and the local environment." The Town Council agreed to contact Highways to ask for a meeting to discuss the issue.
At the meeting in November, the Town Council supported Neil and fellow Green Councillor Carol Thornton in repeating the request for the meeting to take place. Carol added " Urgent action is needed to make the Town safer for pedestrians especially at the bottom of Ferriby Hill, before somebody is seriously hurt or worse."
