Local Elections - May 2015

For the first time, all voters in North Lincolnshire were able to vote for the Green Party at both unitary authority and parliamentary level in May 2015. As well as fielding candidates in all three parliamentary constituencies in North Lincolnshire, the Green Party also had at least one candidate in every ward for North Lincolnshire Council.

With 20 Green candidates at unitary authority level, this put the Green Party as the third largest party in the local elections.

At the time of the Local Elections, Neil Jacques, Lead Green Candidate for Barton said:

“I am delighted that the Green Party in North Lincolnshire is able to give everyone in the area a chance to vote Green. We have seen a massive surge in interest in Green politics in the country. In this area our membership has more than tripled in the last year. As a result we have been able to field a great group of highly enthusiastic candidates covering a wide variety of ages, experience and backgrounds. The elections this year are going to be very interesting indeed.”
